Move over November – Tackling Men’s Mental Health Thanks to Movember

Movember is a national charity that is dedicated to changing the face of men’s health. Created in 2003, the charity started with 30 men growing their moustaches during the month of November. Their aim? To raise awareness and funds for men’s health.

Over the past 22 years, the charity has grown significantly and is now the leading men’s health charity in the UK, focused on tackling mental health and suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

Poor mental health is a huge concern within the construction industry, particularly amongst men, with many suffering from stress, anxiety, and depression due to unrealistic deadlines, heavy workloads, and poor communication. As such, here at National Plastics we want to raise as much awareness and money for Movember as we can.

Steve Dunn, the manager of our Plymouth branch, is spearheading our fundraising effort for this Movember. As well as growing his own moustache to raise money, he’s also encouraging the rest of the National Plastics family to get involved.
